Our company is a company that works on the quality of the product, with secular olive trees and vineyards considered to be of excellence.
The company is located in the first hills of Romagna and is extended in the municipalities of Brisighella, Modigliana, Tredozio and Forlì, for a total of 390 hectares of which:
14 hectares of Sangiovese, Albana Bianca, Ciliegiolo, Trebbiano and Albana Rossa vineyards. The grapes produced are then transformed into the company producing wine with the ancient method of our grandparents.
170 hectares are cultivated with cereals (the company has a centenary experience in the cultivation of cereals), including: spelled (later transformed into pearl spelled and flour), soft wheat (Gentil Rosso: excellent flour for homemade pasta, bread and many other things), durum wheat (Senatore Cappelli), protein plants, fodder and sunflowers (the sunflowers are used to produce cold-pressed sunflower oil without the use of chemicals).
3 hectares of olive trees, including which 250 plants of about 400 years (very ancient variety of the "Nostrana di Brisighella"), 150 plants of about 120 years ("Leccino ghiacciola"), 1000 plants between 15 and 40 years ("Leccino", "Nostrana di Brisighella", "Frantoio", "fs17", "Don Carlo", "San Giulia"). The olives produced are transformed directly with the company oil mill to obtain extra-virgin olive oil.
The company has its origins in the breeding of cattle, in the production of milk and dairy products and in the cultivation of cereals and forage.
In 1967, at the age of 10, Ghirelli Romano became interested in tractors and began to help the small business.
Ghirelli Romano founds the company in ADD and continues to renew it year by year.
He plans to start producing wine when the cereal undergoes a major economic devaluation and completes the project, starting the production of wine in 2006.
In the same year he buys a farm in Brisighella, where an olive grove is located. In 2007 he also starts producing olive oil and sunflower oil with his own mills.
Concentrating on the production and sale of wine and oil, he modifies the production of cereals continuing to produce them, but without obtaining an economic compensation.
The latest innovation made by the company occurred in 2013, when a shed was built for the transformation of cereals and the production of baked goods, such as biscuits, bread and much more.
Wanting to expand the company's production, in 2013 Romano decides to return to producing cereals: he inaugurates the oven with a laboratory for fruit processing and an vinegar factory inside. The production and sale of bread, biscuits, jams and vinegar begins. Gradually the production also extends to other baked goods, sweets, fruit in syrup and balsamic vinegar.
The dream of Ghirelli Romano and his partner Biondi Roberta is to be able to say that they are autonomous in the production of each product sold and to make their own production complete.
This dream was realized in 2017, with the inclusion of the stone mill in the company. With this innovation they can finally say that they produce everything they need and they can be sure that the flour they use for the products and for the sale is actually totally derived from their own cereals.
The company adopts, as a production chain, a short chain. This means that the number of production steps and commercial intermediaries is limited; in the case of the Ghirelli Company these parameters are zeroed as the consumer has direct contact with the producer.
The Ghirelli company can boast of its full production of all the products it sells: from oil to baked goods, through wine and fruit derivatives.
